Dear N433,

Thanks for your inquiry. Regarding Duchamp and music, I'd recommend you visit the following site on our Marcel duchamp Studies Online Journal:

http://www.toutfait.com/issues/issue_2/Articles/lotringer.html

and if you go to BACKISSUES and click issue #1 and go to the Music Square you can listen to Erratum Musical online!

We have the "John Cage & Marcel Duchamp" Finnadar record here (SR 9017), by Donald Knaack (percussionist) with recordings of Cage's 27'10.554'' and Duchamp's "Bride Stripped Bare" as well as his "Erratum Musical". Copyright is 1977.

Other recordings of Duchamp's music in our archives include the double record "Artsounds Collection" on the Philips/Polygram label, recorded March 1985-June 1986, produced by Jeff & Juanita Gordon, containing a piece inspired by Duchamp, "Air de Paris" (1'49'')

A sub rosa (sr 57) CD of 1994, www.subrosa.net, called "Marcel Duchamp", edited by Marc Dachy, with interviews and a recordings of Erratum Musical as well as "Bride"

In 1991 Edition Block published "Music by Marcel Duchamp" in cooperation with Paula Cooper containing various recordings

There's also: "Passion in Paint. Famous Paintings set to Music" (1955)with a recording by Henri rene and his orchestra inspired by Duchamp's "Nude Descending a Staircase" of 1913

That's all for the moment. Best,

Thomas Girst
