has been doing research on the photograph, trying to find
matching lace of the time. Richard Hamilton
once claimed that the DP's 'were fabricated
by hanging a one-metre-square Net (net curtain or
veiling) above a radiator'. We know that they
were actually a lot smaller! And RH conceded in
an interview that he did not get this information
from Duchamp but that he derived his guess from
the length of the 'Standard Stoppages' (of which
we now know that they are longer than one meter)
