Two concerns - i wonder if anyone can help me?
1/ I was in Munich last year and visited an old airfield just outside the city (it was just being built at the time of Duchamp's visit to the city in 1912 and was the only airfield in the area at that time). In a museum attached to the airfield were a number of models of aircraft which were flying from the site around 1912. Some of these bore a close resemblance in design detail to some of the details in duchamp's Munich 'aeroplane' drawing. Does anyone have any info/evidence that duchamp ever travelled out to such places during his stay in Munich?
2/ Does anyone have any evidence of the state of the drawings duchamp sketched out on the wall of his studio flat at 23 Rue St Hippolyte. I was there recently and took some pictures (from outside in the road - as part of an on-going 'picto-biographical'/tracking project. Has anyone any definitive evidence that they have been erased or otherwise faded etc?
