: Two more recommendations:
: 1. André Gervais, "La raie alitée d'effets: Apropos of Marcel Duchamp," Quebec: Editions Hurtubise HMH, 1984

: 2. Stephen Jay Gould, "The Substantial Ghost:
: Towards a General Exegesis of Duchamp's Artful Wordplays," Tout-Fait: The Marcel Duchamp Studies Online Journal, Vol. 1, issue 2 (May 2000) Articles

But does Stephen Jay Gould in his EXEGESIS mention anywhere in his essay that Duchamp was just FUNNY, and enjoyed simple, low-brow AMUSEMENT for himself? Liked DIRTY, DICK JOKES? Jesus, I could barely stay awake through that. If Gould were reading that before some group of old ninnies, I'd pray that Arthur Cravan would rise from the grave and drop his pants before the whole group!
Perhaps insufficiently light-hearted! Where are the crude, shocking dadaists when you need them?
