: I am a member of the Neo-Futurists. A theater company out of Chicago. We are responsible for Chicago's longest latenight show called Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind.
: Anyway, besides the aforementioned show we are also known for staging shows (performance pieces) based on artists lives. We have done shows on Joeseff Cornell, Jan Vermeer, Kafka, Samuel Beckett, and more. Now we have taken on Marcel Duchamp. We knew it was going to be a difficult task, and every day I doubt my decision to participate. Yet I can't help pursuing this goal.
: We use the artist more as a starting point for ideas. We do not attempt to stage characters. We are not a company that puts on costumes by the artists, walk on stage, perhaps with a mustache and announce that we are Mark Twain.
: Basically I would like to open up a discussion with any amount of people who are interested in sharing ideas that can be staged, through absurdity, music, dialogue, lecture.
: One of my main talents in the company is physicalizing in silence and to music ideas, emotions and thoughts. I do not have a single idea along these lines for Marcel yet. This frustrates me. the piece will be a mixture of comedy, information, misinformation, monolgues, dialogues, and movement to music. (Not like dancing, we are not trained in dancing, and don't pretend to be. My movements are more associated with Buster Keaton) This is all for now.
