: In England and Austria Richard Hamilton and Ecke Bonk
: just finished working on a typographic version of
: Marcel Duchamps' "White Box" of 1967 ("A l'Infinitif",
: New York: Cordier & Ekstrom). Their forthcoming book
: will be published by the ‘typosophic society' and
: London's Tate Gallery.

: Commemorating the 31st anniversary of his death, two
: New York galleries will hold exhibitions focusing on
: Duchamp and his influence on modern art. Achim Moeller
: Fine Art will show "Marcel Duchamp: The Art of Making
: Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" (2 October
: 1999 - 15 January 2000) while Curt Marcus presents
: "Apropos of Marcel: Making Art after Duchamp in the
: Age of Mechanical Reproduction" (5 October 1999 -
: 30 October 1999) . Both shows are curated by Dada
: and Duchamp-scholar Francis M. Naumann and will be
: accompanied by fully illustrated catalogues. The shows'
: openings will coincide with yet another of Naumann's
: publications on Duchamp: "Marcel Duchamp: The Art of
: Making Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction"
: (New York: Harry N. Abrams, 1999; 339 pages).

: In France, Hector Obalk is collaborating with Francis
: Naumann on a publication of Duchamp's letters.
: "Marcel Duchamp: Selected Correspondence" will be
: published by Ludion: Antwerp, Belgium, and is
: scheduled to appear before the close of 1999.

: From Belgrade, Yugoslavia, the Art Science Research
: Laboratory just received a copy of Zoran Gavric's
: book on Marcel Duchamp. Published by Bogovada in
: 1995 and close to 400 pages in length, we were asked
: by the authors to make this exhaustive study available
: to any native speaker interested in the subject.
: Breaching the gap of two countries at war only a short
: while ago, we were grateful to see that books,
: not bombs were crossing the border this time.

: In Germany, art-historian Herbert Molderings'
: close look at Duchamp's posthumous work
: "Given: 1. The Waterfall, 2. The Illuminating Gas"
: will be published this year as part of the Fischer
: publishing house's "kunststueck"-series ("Gegeben sei:
: 1. Der Wasserfall, 2. Das Leuchtgas". Frankfurt:
: Fischer, 1999; ca. 10 Euros).
