Thanks for the info, As you said its only someones interpretion, It's diffcult enougth to unlock the secerts of his work let alone his subconsious. It is interesting though brought my attention to an early MD painting "My younger sister torn in tatters" or some such title.

Dear Bee
: any writing by Arturo Schwarz will do. The whole incest thing harks back to Duchamp reserach ca. 1970. Supposedly, MD had a crush on his younger sister Suzanne and all his work was intended to sublimate incestuous desires. Pretty tired. As for the delay and the delay in glass re: the large glass. i do not know offhand how these two concepts are related but the unfinished state of the large glass incorporates the idea of the delay (again, you'll find most of the references in MD's own writings -- as for the incest: that's others interpreting his work).
: Best, Thomas

: : I read an article on the net the other day the metioned only briefly that the use of the word "Delay"
: : in Duchamps notes on the Large Glass could suggest somehow a subconsious fear of incest? sounded strange wondered if any knew more info on how this coculsion could be reached.
